Great ending to this, especially Patrick Kavanagh being brought off to the fair. I knew Kavanagh had written a poem about an old horse and I resurrected it: Pegasus with the opening lines:
"My soul was an old horse
Offered for sale in twenty fairs."
and that made the final piece even more more poignant and powerful. I presume this is where the inspiration for that element of your story came from. I really enjoyed the whole set. Well done, Gavin.
